Fantasy Poems

Fairytale stories are something that anyone, old or young, can enjoy.  They provide an escape from reality, as well as point out themes that really do exist; such as love, war, betrayal, happiness, and sadness.  Fairytales present these themes in majestic and mystical ways.  The villains can make you shudder in terror, while the heroes and heroines can always bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.  This collection of fantasy poems includes some well-known fairytales, and also introduces a few new ones.

The Wonderful World of Disney

Come to a world where the fairies sing and dance,
Where the hero always takes his fighting stance.
Come to a world where a genie will grant your wish,
Where you can swim with a mermaid and her fish.

Come to a world where a big giant mouse
Will welcome you into his cozy house,
Where princesses have skin as white as snow,
And the truth is told by a growing nose.

Come storm the castle of a vicious beast,
And sit down for an enchanted feast.
Come to a world where elephants fly
Higher and higher in the bright sunny sky.

Come to a world where you can stay young forever
And prepare yourself for a thrilling adventure.
Come to the Wonderful World of Disney,
And you, too, can experience the magic it gives me.

Never-Never Land

I won't grow up.
I'll find my way
To Never-Never Land
To live with Tinkerbell,
And play with Pan.
I'll learn to fly
To Never-Never Land
Where I can stay with Pan.

The Fairies' Tale

If you listen very closely,
You will hear the fairies mostly
Singing their playful tunes
In merry little croons.

They'll tell their tales of "Once upon a time,"
All the while chanting in deep, measured rhymes.
Speaking of when the prince saved the princess
And rescued her from frightening distress.

Riding atop his great white horse,
The prince went to slay the dragon, of course.
The fearsome battle took place
Until the lovely princess was safe.

Then the prince carried her away
After he was through saving the day.
The royal couple sailed up high,
Into the clouds to a castle in the sky.

And since the fiery battle was won,
The fairies' tale is now done.
Such a brave and loyal hero was he,
For they lived happily ever after, you see.

The Song of the Siren

She sings her song forevermore,
A twisted tale of lovers' woes.
The waves break on the deserted shore,
And into the sailor's heart the song of the siren grows.

A twisted tale of lovers' woes,
The spell of the siren can't be cured.
And into the sailor's heart the song of the siren grows.
And into death he is lured.

The spell of the siren can't be cured.
Away from safety the sailor is pulled,
And into death he is lured
As into eternal sleep the sailor is lulled.

Away from safety the sailor is pulled.
The waves break on the deserted shore,
As into eternal sleep the sailor is lulled.
She sings her song forevermore.

Knight In Shining Armor

The knight was brave.
He was strenght and honor.
He was chivalrous and courageous, and courteous.
Whenever he took a challenge, he'd always come out on top.
